Morphometric Behavior of Shahzad Watershed, Lalitpur District, Uttar Pradesh, India: A Geospatial Approach

Morphometric parameters are an important aspect for understanding the hydrological and morphological behaviour of watershed. The present study is carried out in region Bundelkhand (India) which socio-economically backward has a history frequent drought hence studying watershed characteristics with reference to morphometric analysis becomes important. remote sensing GIS technique been utilized mathematically quantify Shahzad mainly fed by River (a tributary Jamini River) flowing from south north direction contributing area 1100 km2. various viz., linear, aerial, relief morpho-tectonic indicate that elongated shape slightly uplifted right side southern part. Moreover, experiences low dissection run-off discharge there indicating less erosion area. other factors like drainage density, frequency, infiltration number length over land flow high permeability capacity. Through this study, it can be concluded fruitfully analysing region. This helps researcher, planner stakeholders establish relationship between characteristics, thereby resulting management sustainable resource management.
